La Grange GMRS Repeater – 462.650 (+5.0) PL 151.4 Hz. This repeater operates on 462.650 MHz with a +5.0 MHz offset and 151.4 Hz CTCSS tone. The system is a Vertex Standard VXR-7000 running 40 watts and is currently mounted on a 25-foot mast. While not yet in its permanent configuration, it provides solid coverage throughout La Grange and surrounding areas and performs well at receiving weaker handheld and mobile signals. The repeater will be moving to a new home in the near future, which is expected to significantly improve overall coverage. The system is backed by a UPS capable of keeping it on the air approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on usage. During severe weather or emergencies, all properly licensed GMRS users are welcome, but please keep transmissions concise and allow priority traffic to break in. The repeater has a 3-minute time-out timer; on normal days feel free to ragchew as long as you’d like, just be mindful of the 3-minute limit and reset between transmissions. Please follow FCC Part 95 rules, identify as required, be courteous, leave pauses for others to join, and avoid disruptive behavior. This repeater is intended to be friendly, relaxed, and community-oriented.
